FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions homeowners ask most about AC repair: response times, pricing, after-hours service, and repair versus replace.
We prioritize no-cooling calls during heat waves and reach most homes the same day. Response times vary with demand and location, and we’ll always give you a realistic window when you call.
After-hours and emergency calls may carry an additional charge for the priority response involved. We’ll always tell you the cost upfront before any work begins, so there are no surprises.
Yes, our diagnostic visit covers a technician inspecting your AC and identifying the problem. We’ll confirm the exact fee when you book and explain how it applies if you proceed with the repair.
If your AC is under about 10 to 12 years old and the repair is affordable, fixing it usually makes sense. For older units facing a major repair like a compressor, replacement may be the smarter long-term value. We’ll give you both options honestly.
Yes. Our technicians are trained and equipped to repair every major air conditioner brand, so you only need one call no matter who made your system or where it was installed.
An AC that runs without cooling often points to a refrigerant leak, a frozen coil, a dirty condenser, or a failing compressor. These need a proper diagnosis, so it’s best to book a technician rather than keep running the system and risk further damage.
BEFORE YOU CALL
5 Quick Checks That Fix Many AC Problems
Before you book a service call, try these five quick checks. They solve a surprising number of cooling problems in minutes, and cost you nothing.
Check the Thermostat
Make sure it's set to 'cool' and a few degrees below room temperature. Swap the batteries if it's battery-powered, since a dead battery is a common and easy fix.
Check the Breaker and Power
Look for a tripped breaker in your panel and confirm the power switch near the indoor and outdoor units is on. AC units draw a lot of power and can trip a breaker.
Replace the Air Filter
A clogged filter chokes airflow and can freeze the coil or shut the system down. If yours is dirty, replace it and give the system time to recover.
Clear the Outdoor Unit
Your condenser needs airflow. Clear away leaves, grass, and debris, and make sure there's clearance around it so it can release heat properly.
Check the Condensate Drain
A clogged drain line can trigger a safety shutoff. If you can locate it, check for blockage; if it's backed up, that may be why your system stopped.
